Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the Signature Tour and the Essentials Tour?
The simplest way to think about it:
Essentials (4.5 hrs · from ¥40,000) — The must-see highlights, done well. Perfect if your time is limited.
Signature (6 hrs · from ¥60,000) — Everything in the Essentials, plus the quieter, hidden side of the region. Lava caves, forest paths, and spots most visitors never find. This is our most recommended tour.
Not sure which to choose? If you have a full day and want to experience as much as possible, go Signature. If time is tight, go Essentials. Either way, you won't leave disappointed.
Is this a Mt Fuji Climbing tour?
No, but there are many great local guides who specialize in this.
Do you go to Mt Fuji 5th Station?
We believe Mt Fuji is best viewed from around it. The road to Mt Fuji 5th station is also closed during the official climbing season and is only reachable by going by bus. Going to the 5th Station from Kawaguchiko Station takes almost an hour to drive to. For example, If we go here it will take up half of your 6 hr tour (1 hr up, 1hr to view, 1 hr down) thus not really making it worthwhile when on tour with us.
Best done as a side mission on your own or a generic bus tour.
Can I request specific spots or customize the itinerary?
Absolutely. Our tours are built around the Omakase principle — trusting your guide to curate the best possible day based on the weather, timing, and their local knowledge. That said, if there's a specific spot you've been dreaming of, or something you'd love to experience, let us know when you book and we'll do our best to make it happen.
What's the best season to visit?
Honestly...every season has something the others don't — and part of what makes our tours special is that your guide knows exactly where to take you to make the most of whatever time of year you visit.
Spring (March–May) brings one of the most iconic images in Japan — cherry blossoms framing Mt. Fuji in pink. The blossoms typically peak in early to mid-April in our area, so if that's what you're after, plan accordingly. The light is beautiful, and the energy around the lake is infectious.
Summer (June–August) is lush and green, with the mountain occasionally dramatic against stormy skies. The forests and lakes are at their most vivid, and there's a wildness to the landscape that the other seasons don't quite match.
Autumn (September–November) is many people's favourite. The foliage turns deep red and gold from late October through November, and on a clear day, Mt. Fuji against autumn leaves is something you won't forget.
Winter (December–February) offers the clearest skies of the year and the best chance of seeing Fuji's snow cap in full. The cold keeps the crowds away, and there's a stillness to the area that feels truly special.
One thing to note: March, April, and November tend to book out weeks — sometimes months — in advance. If you're planning to visit during these months, we strongly recommend securing your spot early.
