The Road to Hakone

From Kawaguchiko to your Hakone ryokan — skip the transfers, turn your travel day into a journey.

Why This Tour Exists

Kawaguchiko and Hakone are two of Japan's most iconic destinations — yet getting from one to the other is surprisingly difficult.

The "official" route involves a bus to Gotemba, a transfer to another bus or train, and often a long wait in between — all while managing luggage, language barriers, and tight ryokan check-in windows.

So we built something different.

The Road to Hakone is a fully guided 4-hour private journey that takes you through hidden shrines, sacred springs, and panoramic mountain passes between the two regions. By the time you arrive in Hakone, you won't just have transferred — you'll have experienced a side of Japan most travelers never see.

How We Do It

  • A 4-Hour Private Journey, Door to Door:
While the standard route requires multiple transfers at Gotemba, The Road to Hakone connects the two regions in a single seamless journey — picking you up at your Kawaguchiko accommodation and dropping you off directly at your Hakone ryokan or hotel.

  • Bridging Two Worlds:
This route is designed to connect the Alpine Basin of Mt. Fuji with the Volcanic Caldera of Hakone. We begin at the sacred springs of Oshino Hakkai, pause at the hidden forest shrine of Ninooka — a site most travelers miss — and savor local flavors at Toraya Kobo before ascending the ridge into Hakone.

We end at Ashinoko Observation Park, where Lake Ashi and the steaming vents of Owakudani open up in a 360-degree panorama. By the time you check in to your ryokan, you won't just have arrived—you will truly understand the landscape you are about to explore.
